Academic success and extracurricular involvement are two deeply rooted traits of the Omicron Chapter. We also like to foster these traits in the University community. In order to recognize men at UVA who exemplify the characteristics of a gentleman, scholar, and leader we offer a scholarship to a select group of finalists every fall.
A description of the award from the Beta National Website: "The Men of Principle Scholarship Grant Program was established in 1999 through generous donations to the Beta Theta Pi Foundation to help individual chapters and colonies of the Fraternity recognize unaffiliated (non-Greek) male students on college campuses. We seek to reward these men for their devotion to the values that the Fraternity holds dear to our hearts – mutual assistance, intellectual growth, trust, integrity and responsible conduct – and for outspoken, positive leadership in our communities." |
The selection process occurs in the fall, which involves applications, essays, and interviews with Omicron chapter brothers, ending with a brotherhood and applicant banquet where the recipients of the scholarship are announced. This November, we were proud to award a total of $2,000 in scholarships to four outstanding recipients. We look forward to seeking out and meeting young men of principle in the next application period, Fall 2021.
